PS VITA Thoughts

First things first, people need to stop looking at handhelds as something you need to be away from your home console to play. I play mine at home whilst the PS3 and Xbox look on in jealousy, the wii know’s it’s inferior so stays quiet. He’s a quick rundown in top 10 format of my impressions (in no particular order)

10. It’s not retina display, so although it’s great looking it’s still not a ‘ps3 in your hand’, you still have a case of seeing teeny tiny edge’s.

9. The analogue sticks initially feel too small but respond great and have better range when compared to the circle pad on 3DS.

8. There is a little too much focus on touch, I would have wanted to navigate the menus with buttons instead of smudging my screen right before playing! argh!

7. My good friend is furious because you can’t have 2 profiles on one device without a tedious switching system requiring two memory cards.

6. Remote play (already existing on the psp) is just as good, providing you’re on a home network, replaying downloaded psone games on a screen that doesn’t make them look like ass is great.

5. It feels comfortable on the hands to play

4. battery is 3-5 hours, but to be honest you won’t be playing for that long in 1 sitting, plus if you are, you’re probably at home and near a power socket.
3. PSP games loaded onto it look terrible, but I haven’t played with the filters yet that apparently drastically increase the picture quality.

2. Uncharted is good so far, too many cutscenes though, and 1 entire chapter consisted of putting together a friggin’ jigsaw… I could have bought a REAL jigsaw for a fiver!

1. PSVITA overall is a great console and a day 1 purchase for fanatics and people who like to blow their cash, come Autumn there will be a better selection of games, improved firmware (onboard psone support) and hopefully cheaper price, so unless you have wanted one every day from the minute you heard about it, chances are you still don’t ned it now.

…hmmm, sounds like I’ve proper slagged it! I do love it though, but as with every new console only time and developer support will dictate it’s success!

Fake Lake – Toilet Kids, it’s actually a thing.

If you’ve listened to episode 39, then you’ll be aware that during the Fake Lake section Chris brought up a game called Toilet Kids. Much to all our disbelief, this is actually a thing. A game where a child who needs the toilet goes around throwing his own shit, urine and toilet bowls at people. This is actually a real thing. Even as I’m writing this and watching the YouTube video below I can’t quite believe it’s a real.

Hyper Simon’s Super Happy Ultimate Gaming Bugs Guessing Game Videos!

Back in episode 35, Simon came up with a little game he called “Hyper Simon’s Super Happy Ultimate Gaming Bugs Guessing Game”. He promised that he’d upload the videos on the site for your viewing pleasure. Naturally, as always, he never did. But with a little push from podcast fan Carrie over on Facebook, he’s got his arse in gear and finally posted them. HAPPY? Ok, so, on with the bugs…

1. Half Life 2
The AI of the enemies bugs out when you hold a barrel. Holding one makes you invisible to them. Nice!

2. Red Dead Redemption
Balls knows what causes this, but in Red Dead world, deer fly!

3. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Arrow shooting -= Theft!

4. Assassins Creed
Horses run a little oddly in this universe. (Turn down your sound, this music RUINS this video. Also, this isn’t the initial video I first found for this bug, but it still makes me laugh!)

5. Bioshock
Big Daddies need their relief too, you know!
